The scoop:
Opened in 2006 by master chocolatier Maria Valente, this iconic institution is chockfull of bark, bon bons, truffles, pretzels, chocolate bombs… she even sells “bits and pieces” of chocolate scraps that didn’t make it to display, but were too good to throw away.
Everything is made with intention and from the freshest ingredients of the highest quality. In fact, Maria makes it a priority to let the chocolate speak for itself, avoiding too much color or other embellishment to distract from the taste. The result is decadent, delicious, down-to-business pieces that are made for the die-hards and deliver that chocolate high.
Top secret from the tray? Fresh is best. A chocolate eaten within days tastes world’s better than one that’s been sitting on the shelf; and if there are strawberries involved, it’s day of or else.
She will be closing shop for a few weeks in mid-July for a mini renovation, so you can head there soon to stock up, or be sure to check out the updated digs later this summer!
